SALAFIYYAH QADEEMAH AND SALAFIYYAH JADEEDAH
Question:
Is there a 'Salafiyyah Qadeemah (old)' and 'Salafiyyah Jadeedah (new)', or is there just one Salafiyyah?
Answer:
There is only one Salafiyyah, the one who claims that there is an old and new Salafiyyah has lied. If we contemplate over the 'aqeedah of the Salaf from the time of the sahaabah to our time today, we find it to be one 'aqeedah, never contradicting each other. Even if they differed in the subsidiary legislations which are not from the fundamentals and beliefs, then surely they disagree in this (subsidiary legislations).
Not one of them belittles the other. This was the way of the sahaabaah, may Allaah the most high be pleased with them all. As for the beliefs, then their manhaj (methodology) in this regard is one from the time of the Companions until now.

TAKE FROM HIM HIS KNOWLEDGE, BUT LEAVE ALONE HIS ACTIONS
Question:
What is your opinion regarding some who invited to Allaah, outwardly displaying sincerity in intention and deed, but who perpetrate some acts of disobedience and sin? Should this stop us from benefitting from their knowledge and what they are inviting to?
Answer:
It is not a requisite for a teacher or caller to be perfect in order for us to listen to him, rather benefit can be derived from him even if he has some deficiencies in his character. This, however, should not prevent us from advising him and instructing him to do what is good with gentle words and in a good manner.
The teacher may be lazy about praying in congregation, so he must be advised. He might be someone who lets his garment fall below the ankles, so he must be advised. He might shave his beard and so he must be advised, for the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) said: Trim your moustaches and let your beards grow, and be different from the dilators. CALLING TO NATIONALISM IS A CALL TO IGNORANCE
Question:
What is your opinion regarding the call to nationalism which says that belonging to a race or language is more important than religion? These groups claim that they are not against religion, but that they consider nationalism to be more important. What is your opinion on this claim?
Answer:
This call is ignorance and it is not to ascribe oneself to it, nor to encourage those who call to it. Indeed, it is obligatory to destroy it, because Islamic law orders us to combat it and drive it out, to refute their analogies and claims with answers which make the truth clear to those who seek it. For it is Islam alone that keeps alive the Arab character, language, culture and morality.
To snub this religion is, in reality, to destroy the Arab character in its language, culture and morality. Therefore, it is incumbent upon the (Muslim) preachers to strive hard to spread the call of Islam, in order to defeat those who attempt to suppress it.
It is well known that Islam necessitates the view that calling to Arab nationalism or any other kind of nationalism is a false message and a great error, and it is a clear abomination, loathsome ignorance, and a plot against Islam and its people.
This is for many reasons explained in a book which I have called: A Critique of Arab Nationalism in the Light of Islam and Factual Evidence. I ask Allaah that He grant success to all in (following) that which pleases Him.

NEWLY INVENTED MATTERS (IN RELIGION)
Question:
What are newly invented matters and what is the meaning of this?
Answer:
This comes from the statement of the Prophet (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam): Beware of newly invented matters.
[1] This refers to every innovation people do in the religion of Islam, whether that innovation is in belief or worship etc. All of which is neither from the Book (of Allaah) nor an established Sunnah from the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam).
Yet they take these things as religious practice and beliefs, worshipping Allaah with them, claiming that they are lawful when they are not. On the contrary, such acts are prohibited innovations.
WARN PEOPLE AGAINST DEVIANTS
Question:
Is it permissible to mention people’s names and characters when one wants to criticize them and their thinking?
Answer:
If someone writes something that contradicts the pure Shari'ah, and distributes that material, or if he promulgates that view in the media, it becomes compulsory to refute him and expose the falsehood of what he says.
